The European Forum: Cistercians at the North Sea and the Baltic Sea

The "European Forum: Cistercians at the North Sea and the Baltic Sea" is an association of Cistercian places and people who are interested in them. We deal with the heritage of the Cistercian order, its branches near the North Sea and the Baltic Sea and that what may be called "specific local Cistercian spirit".

We deal with the Cistercian's work, especially in history, architecture, economy and spirituality. We ask ourselves what we can learn from the Cistercians concerning European aspects, e.g. regarding economic and ecological processes.

The participants develop, promote and support
• all kinds of information concerning Cistercian spirituality and values as well as research and teaching these matters
• studying Cistercian history and its presentation on the basis of the current results of research

The participants support each other by exchange of experience and cooperation all over Europe at symposiums and seminars, exhibitions and activities, projects and presentations.

By that the "European Forum: Cistercians at the North Sea and the Baltic Sea" offers opportunities for information, interchange and sharing experience of the Cistercian heritage and its local characteristics.

It attracts the attention of many people in the different European countries.
